Current Rescues
At Wilde Child, we tend to keep our rescue herd limited to four horses total. We have found that oftentimes rescues end up taking on more horses than they are capable of taking care of. While their intentions are good, often the horse pays the price. As a way to ensure we do not make the same mistake and can properly care for all the horses in our rehab program - we plan to remain a smaller rescue for the time being.
Lilo

Lilo is a 9 year old Missouri Foxtrotter who came to Wilde Child for extensive hoof rehab. In just a few months, she went from laying down constantly to running and playing. She still has a long road ahead - but she is on the mend!
Hugo

Hugo is a 7 year old Quarter Horse who is not only blind, but also a cryptorchid. He will be undergoing surgery in the fall to be gelded and have his eyes removed due to recurring abscesses. He will likely be a permanent resident of the rescue due to his condition.
Bandit

Bandit is an approximately 16 year old Tennessee Walker who was surrendered to the rescue after his owner fell on hard times. After a tune-up, this very special horse will be available for adoption!!
